The Art Collective at Womenspace
Womenspace took part in the Sandgate Creative Trail in October 2024, showcasing local artists who had facilitated art workshops for EmpowHer Project at Womenspace earlier in the year. Our experience in the Creative Trail was very positive and served as a promotion of the space/organisation. It sparked the idea of creating a WS Gallery and 2025 art workshops, led by the participating artists – birth of The Art Collective.
The April evening event ‘Celebrate Being Wildly Creative’ is a great indication to what will happen during these workshops.
The artists in the Collective all firmly believe in the benefits of connection and creativity to wellbeing through art workshops and art exhibitions, understanding that even looking at art can be beneficial to one’s wellbeing. They will promote and foster these benefits by offering an initial introductory round of workshops between May and August (dates below) in hope that these will then continue on a regular basis.
The artists will have an ever-changing exhibition of their works on the walls for all to enjoy and to purchase, with commissions going to Womenspace, to help further the work the organisation contributes to the community.
