A real weaver, spinning her stories this month is the Life Member of Qld Spinners Weavers and Fibre Artists, and member of Womenspace’s Writers’ Group
WENDY McHUGH
From the times of spending times on weekends and holidays on farms in Lockyer Valley, Granite Belt and Darling Downs, Wendy’s life is based in strong family connections.
She began volunteering in community organisations in late childhood - leading her eventually up to volunteering as a Gallery Manager at the Old Fire Station Redcliffe.
Her studies in Arts and Education took her to teaching in country primary and high schools, supporting young people with disabilities.
Wendy was part of the creative team which started the Sandgate Bluewater Festival, later became the Secretary of the Sandgate Chamber of Commerce – and more recently helped to establish the Moreton Bay Women’s Shed!
Join Wendy, to hear the stories that weave all these experiences (and some more) together. Another rich life, be inspired!
Donations, door prize and raffle tickets on entry. Please arrive a little earlier for 6.30pm start.
